Mozambique at the 21st African Fine Coffees Conference & Exhibition – Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania
Held from February 26 to 28, 2025, in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, the event brought together experts, producers, and investors to strengthen African coffee production and expand business opportunities. Objectives and Representation: Mozambique aimed to strengthen its presence in the coffee sector, establish partnerships, and share experiences. The delegation included the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment, and Fisheries (MAAP), AMOCAFE, and producers such as Café Vumba, Café Manica, Café do Gaiato, and Café do Ibo, with support from the International Trade Centre (ITC) and facilitation from the MAIS VALOR Project.




AMOCAFE at World of Coffee Dubai 2025 January 18 – 20, 2025
AMOCAFE had the honor of representing Mozambican coffee at the event, highlighting brands such as Café do Ibo, Café Vumba, Ell Barista Coffee Roasters, and Café Manica. This participation reinforced AMOCAFE’s commitment to promoting the excellence of coffee produced in Mozambique, showcasing the quality and unique identity of its beans.




Mozambican Companies at the 29th Macau International Fair (MIF) October 16 – 19, 2024
Café Vumba and Manica Coffee participated in the 29th Macao International Fair (MIF), organized by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM). The presence of the companies at the event was coordinated by the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEX), in partnership with the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce (CCM). This helped promote Mozambican coffee and connect producers with international buyers. During the fair, there was a coffee tasting featuring coffees produced by Portuguese-speaking countries. In this competition, Café Vumba won the award in the "Specialty Coffee Beans - Single Variety" category, while Manica Coffee won in the "Potential Coffee Seeds" category. These achievements reinforce the quality of Mozambican products and open doors to new opportunities in the international market. The success of products like Café Vumba and Manica Coffee encourages other regions of Mozambique to develop their agricultural products sustainably and with a focus on quality.




October 1 – International Coffee Day
October 1 – International Coffee Day Mozambique has a rich coffee history and the potential to establish itself as an important producer in Africa. The International Coffee Day aims to celebrate coffee culture, recognizing the importance of coffee in culture and society and highlighting how it influences people's daily lives worldwide, and to raise awareness about sustainability, promoting fair and sustainable coffee trade while encouraging agricultural practices that respect the environment and ensure fair working conditions for producers. The celebrations of International Coffee Day in the country were held in three regions, namely: Southern Zone (City of Maputo), Central Zone (City of Chimoio), and Northern Zone (Cities of Pemba and Nampula). In the city of Maputo, the event was attended by the president of AMOCAFÉ, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, and AMOCAFÉ producers. The event featured an exhibition of coffees produced in Mozambique, where there was encouragement for the consumption of sustainable and fair trade coffees, tastings, discussions, varieties of national coffees, and preparation methods across all regions.




FACIM August 2024: Highlighting Mozambican Coffee
The 59th Edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM) 2024, held from August 26 to September 1 at the Ricatla International Trade Fair and Exhibition Center in Marracuene, Maputo Province, was an annual event of great importance, bringing together various sectors of the national and international economy. The coffee sector, in particular, played a prominent role, with the presence of national producers showcasing the quality and potential of Mozambican coffee. Among the brands represented were Café Vumba, Manica Coffee, Café Barista Moçambique, Café do Ibo, and Café Gorongosa, offering visitors and entrepreneurs the opportunity to experience the unique flavors and aromas of each brand. The distinctive taste of Mozambican coffee won over consumers and stood out at the fair, with Café do Ibo securing important sales deals. FACIM has established itself as a strategic platform for the exhibition and marketing of national coffee, fostering synergies between producers and potential investors, as well as strengthening the brand of Mozambican coffee.




FIKANI 2024 – National Coffee Shines at the International Tourism Fair - Maputo 8 to 12 August 2024
Since its creation in 2013, through a partnership between the Government of Mozambique, represented by the National Institute of Tourism (INATUR), and the private sector, through the Mozambican Federation of Tourism and Hospitality (FEMOTUR), FIKANI has grown in size and relevance, attracting national and international exhibitors. This year, the event brought together a wide range of exhibitors, including representatives from the accommodation, transportation, tour operator, luxury goods and other tourism-related services sectors. The fair was a vibrant platform for networking and business promotion, with a program that included seminars, workshops, B2B meetings, guided tours and cultural activities, highlighting Mozambique's tourism and investment potential. Brands such as Café do Ibo, Café Gorongosa, Café Niassa, Café Vumba, Café Barista Moçambique and Manica Coffee took part in the event, offering visitors an authentic experience of the flavors of Mozambican coffee. The participation of coffee producers in FIKANI was a strategic step to strengthen the image of Mozambican coffee and its link to the country's culture and identity. As part of the tourism value chain, coffee is not just a drink, but an element that enriches the tourist experience, offering a taste of the best that Mozambique has to offer.
